Obtaining a college degree is an important milestone for many Latino students and their families, but the stress of paying for higher education can sometimes deter students from that goal. TurboTax is proud to announce a new initiative to help empower the next generation of Latinos students to take control of their finances through the #LeadingConEducación program by partnering with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, which will award educational grants and scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are currently making an impact in their Latino communities and are seeking financial support to pursue a higher education diploma or complete their college degree.
Supporting Latino youth through education is vital to help enable the personal and professional advancement of our communities. The partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation will also provide students with tools and resources to become more financially prepared through educational content, including a webinar around finances and taxes, articles and a tax simulation exercise led by our bilingual CPA, Miguel Burgos from TurboTax Live and CFP, Elaine King.
Through this new corporate responsibility educational program, students will be equipped to succeed and overcome the fear of managing their personal finances, experience what it means to file their own taxes, and learn more about income taxes, deductions, and much more!
TurboTax is proud to be able to support Latino youth through this initiative and hopes to help alleviate some of the stress that Hispanic families may feel when they are trying to provide the right education to their children and help them secure a healthy financial future.
