The online survey, commissioned by NerdWallet and conducted by Harris Poll among more than 1,800 U.S. adults, also found that software is the most popular tax preparation method in America. Nearly half (44%) of taxpayers who filed federal income taxes last year used tax software to prepare and file their taxes, and it makes sense given the survey found most taxpayers aren’t knowledgeable about general tax concepts.
